R.I.P.

R.I.P. Bella Marie
2/25/02 - 6/08/09

My dog, Bella (Ella before I changed her name) passed away a month ago. I haven't been active for awhile, and it's been VERY hard for me the past month.

I only had Bella for 3 months and 13 days, and the last 13 days, she was in and out of the vets. First, she was mauled by my boyfriend's mom's puppy. (She's a Burmese Mountain Dog/St. Bernard Mix. Big puppy at only 5 months old)

I got home from feeding the horses on a Friday and Chris told me what happened. I took her outside to see how she would react, and she went potty like a good girl, but then began to heave to throw up. I asked Chris to go over there and ask him what it was, and he said it looked like Blood. As soon as I started to run over to her, she began to heave again, vommiting up blood again.

I rushed her to the vet, almost losing her, as she was going into shock.
He almost lost her that night, but was able to save her. She was given blood and an I.V. I wasn't able to see her for 3 days. She was also having problems breathing.

Her breatheing became stable, and she was in stable condition. I got her home on Tuesday, and she was acting very depressed. She wasn't eating, but she was drinking. I let it go for two days after she had been eating a little bit, but had lost quite a bit of weight. I brought her back in to check on her, and we found out she had a heart murmur. A very large one. I was given medication to give her every morning. I was able to take her home the next day, as she was not eating.

She LOVED cheese, and so I'd put the pill in a piece of cheese, and she didn't want ANYTHING to do with the cheese. So I had to force it down her throat.

I then tried to give her just the piece of cheese, thinking she knew I had the pill in there, and nothing. She was VERY inactive. Not normal for my Bella. That night she developed little air pockets from what would be like getting hit by a car.

The first diagnosis was poison from a mushroom or something. From then on, we'd be in and out of the hospital for depression and that air pocket, as it was creating a LOT of pressure on her shoulders and spine.

Well, the 2nd week and 3rd day, she had an accident inside the house, and it was runny. I knew it wasn't her fault. Unfortunately, I stepped in it, not knowing it was there. I turned the light on, and it looked like old blood with some poop. I went to clean it up and told her to give me just a moment. She followed me to the bathroom, as she always does, but she wanted to poop again. I ran over to her, put a piece of T.P. in her bottom and brought her outside. I told her I'd be RIGHT back, and ran inside to clean up her accident. That night, she actually took a fry from me, but only one.

I went out to check her poop to see if it was old blood or fresh blood, and it was nothing but runny poop, and this lonely undigested fry.

I freaked, called the vet, and told them I was comming.

I signed her in, and noticed a blood blister developing on the air bubble, and asked if the doctor had pricked her with something to determine what was in the bubble, and the lady up front said that he just felt around with his fingers, and with the sounds (Made crackle noises, common with air) he determined it was just air.

I filled out a drop-off sheet and wasn't able to tell her that Mama would be comming back to get her.

She was there for 2 days when I got a phone call of her having a SEVERE infection. She got an injection, and got an I.V. for extra fluids due to the dierrhea, and her not drinking OR eating now. They warmed up some canned food and she ate a bit of that.

She was falling again, and he gave her another antibody, and boosted up her I.V. drip saturday before he left to go home.

He came in early just to check on her. And found out she didn't make it.
I found out that he had cried because he knew how much she meant to me, and we both fought so hard for her.

I wanted to visit her on Saturday, but wasn't able to find a ride... I NEVER EVER got to say goodbye. I think had I gone to see her on Saturday, she would have fought a little bit..

Just that little bit more.. But I didn't. And she's gone.

I got her Ashes the day after my birthday (July 1st) and sifted through them and removed the plates and screws.
I want her to run freely in Heaven.

Godspeed my sweet Angel.

I told a blender that it would never find the gold on the other side of the rainbow. Then my cat fell from the roof and the kitchen exploded. Lying down in my yard I realized nothing made sense anymore.
Why you are welcome! I believe I was watching you on my other account. I have such a bad memoriez! D:
